Oceanus Marine Ltd. is now fully equipped to test Cargo Hatch Covers, Water/Weathertight doors, and also containers (incl. reefers) using a dedicated Ultrasonic Cargo Hatch Cover Tester. This specialised equipment is type-approved and also IACS Class approved.
The UHCT makes the traditional water test redundant because the Ultrasonic Hatch Cover Tester does not have the fail rate associated with the common water test. It is capable of locating holes and tears in hatch seals with pinpoint accuracy. The survey inspection can be carried out while the hold is cargo loaded as it does not damage the cargo. Another advantage enjoyed by our equipment is that it fully complies with port and harbour environment management plans as the marine environment is not polluted while using the instrument.
